Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) Services North-East Philly

What is radiofrequency ablation?

Radiofrequency ablation treatment uses heat to shrink and remove varicose veins.

How does radiofrequency ablation work?

Patients receive the treatment under local anesthesia. The vein specialist introduces a catheter into the vein using a small needle. Since ineffective veins cannot be repaired, the radiofrequency energy is used to break down the collagen in the vein wall so that the vein collapses. Blood flow is redirected to other healthy veins.
